Thrombocytopenia is a condition characterized by decreased platelets in the blood. This course reviews the risk factors, presenting signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of immune thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) and heparin-induced thrombocytopenia/thrombosis (HIT/T).

Upon course completion, learners should be able to provide evidence-based care for the pediatric patient experiencing ITP or HIT/T.
